UN International Youth Day

Today is the UN International Youth Day with this year’s theme being Youth and Climate Change: Time for Action.

Young Friends of the Earth Europe are running a ‘Wrap It Up‘ campaign, collecting messages from the general public onto fabric squares, with their demands to governments on what they must do to ‘Wrap up Climate Change’.

As all my friends were busy, and I didn’t fancy standing in the rain on my own for a few hours, I followed Emma’s suggestion of some more direct action…involving chalk.

I walked around my village with various messages, and it felt good :) In a way, the immediate rain added to the artistic ooh-aah of it all!

…show people that there are others out there thinking, and concerned about where we’re heading.
