My Friend In Micronesia…

Yeah, I have one! (In fact she’s doing the Green Finger with the kids in the school she’s working in!)

Micronesia, Canada, Fiji, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Seychelles, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Turkey, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu are all submitting a resolution to the Security Council of the United Nations this week – calling for Climate Change to become a Security Council issue.

This happens when there is an urgent threat to peace and security – and considering some of these nations are expected not to be on a map in 2100, this is one of those.

There’s an Avaaz petition, already signed by nearly 60,000 people, supporting the countries’ effort. You can too.
