Because of the incredible amount of suffering the people of Burma are experiencing right now, I didn’t really want to blog about this – and use the immense loss of life as some sort of point in this essentially light-hearted blog.

But it is important.

No-one can say that this cyclone was caused by climate change, but what we do know is that they are going to hit more often, with an ever larger destructive impact, and that we have to act on this.

TreeHugger has now also reported how the destruction of the mangroves allowed the cyclone to wreck even more havoc.
