Our First Message

May 24, 2008

Emma and I spent the second day of training working out our key messages – what we want to say. This is a post about the first, and most important, message.

‘Climate Change is the defining issue for who we are as a generation. In 18 months time, the treaty which will follow Kyoto will be decided on. We need to ensure that leaders across the world cut carbon dioxide emissions by at least 80% – in order to avoid the devastating effects of climate chaos.’

That treaty, to be decided on in Copenhagen in December ’09, is absolutely vital.

So it is good to see that the citizens of Copenhagen took to the streets last weekend to demand stronger policies on global Climate Change.
