The SEED House

May 28, 2008

A wonderful article in the New York Times this week about a Student Experiment in Ecological Design (here) with a very nice video too.

Towards the end of the video, Lucas Brown talks about how our generation is really very savvy about this. We’re not starry-eyed, but we are committed and focussed on the solutions.

Students in Oberlin, Ohio time their showers, unplug their fridge, turned down the thermostat, composted worms, and got rid of the television. “It’s not about telling people, ‘You have to do this, you have to do that,’ Lucas said. “It’s about fitting sustainability into our own lives.”

Fantastic to see how they are reaching out to the local community as well. Food for thought… :)
