Copper Cactus

October 4, 2008

I love thinking about new ways of getting people to talk about climate change, and this piece of public art does just that.

Andy Plant’s recycled copper Talking Cactus is part of the Slow Art Trail, which features a series of installations inspired by the environment and climate change in the Yorkshire Dales. His sculpture includes local people sharing their feelings about climate change, and I’m sure seeing this on a walk would get people talking!
