Here’s the update for the last month :)

Dear Friends of the UK Youth Climate Coalition,

Another month, another step closer to the Copenhagen climate change talks next year. We’re excited about the work we’ve done this month, especially now that people are starting to get in touch with us and know what we’re doing. We’re enjoying forming strong relationships with key allies in the youth climate movement, from People and Planet to Footprint Friends, and it’s great to hear about all the conferences, conversations and actions that young people are taking to solve the climate crisis.

For us, September included the following;

  • We spoke at the Climate Change Champions gathering in London – watch the talk here
  • Applications are open for the UK Youth Delegation in Poland – download the application form here
  • We lobbied MEPs in Brussels on the Climate and Energy Package – help out by taking action here
  • We helped train 28 new youth climate activists at Oxfam’s CHANGE program – check out the Green Finger we did together here
  • The new youth/political magazine Politick will be featuring us in an article about activism
  • We collected Green Fingers and spoke to guests about the Arctic and sea ice loss at a WWF/Canon event at the IMAX
  • Our seed funding has been approved – hooray!

And if you want a ten minute educational and inspirational reason why we need to keep working towards a low-carbon future – watch Wake Up, Freak Out, Get A Grip made by the awesome Leo.

Thank you all for your continued support and generosity, we wish you all the hope and happiness to continue your wonderful work,

Casper ter Kuile and Emma Biermann
